Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT)

One new technique that can help identify breast cancer in people with dense breasts is digital breast tomosynthesis, or DBT. An x-ray imaging technique that creates three-dimensional thin cross-sectional images through the breast is the new use of digital mammography.

The software for digital mammography prevents normal structures from being mistakenly recognized as cancer or obscured by thicker tissues. Because of this, a lot of individuals nowadays choose for digital photography rather than film.

The New Digital Mammography

The latest in breast imaging, this digital mammography technology offers higher quality images than traditional film-based mammography and can be read immediately by a radiologist. Digital mammography has been shown to have the same accuracy as more invasive procedures while being kinder to patients who are concerned about radiation exposure.

Many benefits come with this new technology for both patients and doctors alike, so it's no wonder why there has been an increase in clinics using this type of technology.

With an increased demand for executing DBT technology at women's centers, mammography technologists must understand how these advancements will transform your current workflow. Advanced Health Education Center's DBT course will give you a better understanding of the following digital breast tomosynthesis systems:

  • GE
  • SenoClaire
  • Siemens Mammomat Inspiration DBT

  • About This Course

This course, targeted to technologists, satisfies the 8.0 hours of training in new mammographic modality requirements. It will provide you with the tools necessary to understand the basics, benefits, and regular functions of DBT.

As an attendee of this course, you will get a comprehensive look at administrative guidelines, further quality-control (QC) testing, and discuss personnel qualifications.

A vascular ultrasound continuing education course is designed for nurses who want to increase their knowledge of the vascular ultrasound procedure.

Spend the day learning how DBT may increase breast cancer detection and reduce the need for callbacks. You will discover fascinating new information on the GE, SenoClaire, or Siemens Mammomat Inspiration DBT units.

Physicians are welcome to attend. Upon completion, they can receive 8 Category 1 credits. Physicians must call to register for this course to receive these credits.
